Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and Singer (born in the city of New York on 22 November 1984) Her range of talents as an actress has brought the world awe for her work in dramas from the past to suspenseful films and adventure. Johansson was born in New York City, and lived there with her father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. Her twin brother Hunter and her were among the youngest of siblings. At a very young age she discovered a love for acting and began making commercial auditions around the age of seven. Her interest in acting grew quickly, and she was soon after in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the Off-Broadway play Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then had her first appearance in a film in North (1994) and was produced by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson starred next on screen in Just Cause (1995), prior to her breakthrough with Manny & Lo - a story about two sisters, orphans who escape. Then, she was awarded the praise of critics for playing the role of a teenager who suffered an accident that left her with a blemish in The Horse Whisperer (1998). The film gained her more acclaim in Ghost World (2002) as the self-deprecating outcast Rebecca.
